A survey of the development of Spanish literature and civilization in the context of historical developments from the 19th century to the present, as seen through the artistic and intellectual achievements, religious, social and political institutions, customs and traditions reflected in literary texts. May be repeated as topics vary for a total of six hours credit. Prerequisite: SPAN 310; permission of department chair if repeating for credit. See department chair.
