Anthropology with Teacher Licensure

Students seeking middle school or secondary licensure should complete the following program and see the appropriate licensure advisor for additional information.

20 additional hours in Anthropology or Sociology, at least 8 of which must be in Anthropology


 Twelve of the 20 hours must be at the 300-400 level.

    Note: this course may be used to fulfill a lower-level major elective.

Education courses:


Students must also complete the required EDUC courses as indicated in the Education  section of the catalog. Students seeking 6-9 licensure are required to take HIST 315 .

Quantitative Analysis


STAT 185 is recommended for students wishing to pursue additional quantitative analysis.

III. Other departmental requirements:


Major competency is demonstrated in ANTH 464. The course must be completed with a grade of C or higher.

Note:


Students majoring in Anthropology, who also want to major in Sociology, must complete 24 hours of Sociology courses that are not used to complete requirements for the major in Anthropology, including a separate capstone.
