The Certificate in Business Analytics and Intelligence equips students with the essential knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to excel in data-driven business environments. This program covers contemporary business analytics and intelligence tools and methodologies, fostering abilities in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving. It also encourages students to explore various business analytics and intelligence concepts and perspectives, preparing them to become effective professionals in the business sector.


The certificate program is open to all degree-seeking students and professionals. It is particularly beneficial for those majoring in Business, Computer Science, or Economics and professionals who wish to enhance their data-centric understanding of business operations. Participants will gain hands-on experience with diverse business intelligence tools and techniques, as well as insights into the broader trends and challenges impacting businesses globally.


To earn this certificate, students must complete a minimum of 16 semester hours across 4 courses. All students are required to take two foundational courses (BUS 392 - Business Analytics/Decision Making
and BUS 388 - AI for Business) along with 2 additional courses as specified below. With the certificate coordinator’s approval, other relevant courses may be included to fulfill the certificate requirements.
Students must ensure they meet all course prerequisites or obtain a waiver from the instructor.
