Art Licensure (K-12)

Students must major in Art and complete other teacher licensure requirements. See appropriate Education advisor for details.

Students majoring in Art with Teacher Licensure (B.A.) who also want to major in Art History must complete 24 hours of Art History courses that are not used to complete the requirements for the major in Art.

I. Required courses in Education—28 hours, including:

EDUC 210 - Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century, K-12 (3)
EDUC 211 - Instructional Technology for Educational Settings, K-12 (1)
EDUC 320 - Middle School Principles, Practices and Materials (3)
EDUC 346 - Teaching Students with Diverse Needs in the General Education Classroom (3)
EDUC 430 - Lesson Planning and Classroom Management (3)
EDUC 431 - K-12 Art Teaching Methods (3)
EDUC 455 - Student Teaching and Seminar (10)
EDUC 456 - The Teacher as a 21st Century Professional, K-12 (2)

II. Required courses outside Education—4 hours, including:

PSYC 319 - Educational Psychology (4)
Students must also complete the ART courses required for the major in Art with a concentration in Teacher Licensure.
