Art with Teacher Licensure (K–12)

Students desiring licensure in Art, K–12, must complete the following courses within the Department of Art, meet the requirements outlined in the Education section of the catalog, and meet with the appropriate advisor in the Department of Education.
Students majoring in Art with Teacher Licensure (B.A.) who also want to major in Art History must complete 24 hours of Art History courses that are not used to complete the requirements for the major in Art.

Art with Teacher Licensure (K-12)
I. Required courses in the major—47 hours including:
12 additional studio hours in one medium:
Complete Levels II through IV in one of the following media 12 hours of Art History courses, including:

EDUC courses as listed in the Education section of the catalog. Other departmental requirements:
Prior to graduation, the degree candidate must participate in a group senior exhibition. This exhibition ensures that each student will complete a thematically and technically cohesive body of work as a portfolio for professional career purposes. The portfolio will be created in the fourth‐level class in the student’s area of studio concentration. Major, oral and computer competencies will be satisfied in the fourth‐level class. |
