Psychology Minor

Students seeking in a Minor in Psychology must obtain a signed Declaration of Minor form from the chair of the Psychology Department. A minor in Psychology consists of 22 hours in Psychology including:

I. A 9-credit sequence including:

PSYC 101 - General Psychology: Brain and Behavioral Processes (3)
PSYC 102 - General Psychology: Personality and Social Processes (3)
PSYC 201 - Research Methods I (3)

II. A 4-credit laboratory course, either:

PSYC 317 - Developmental Psychology (4) or
PSYC 332 - Learning and Memory (4)

III. A 3-credit non-laboratory course, either:

PSYC 200 - Social Psychology (3) or
PSYC 216 - Fundamentals of Neuroscience (3) or
PSYC 225 - Personality (3)

IV. Six additional hours at the 300-400 level

Additional Information:

One-half of the hours required for a minor must be completed at UNC Asheville. All minors require that a minimum of 6 semester hours of 300-400 level courses be completed at UNC Asheville.
