Middle School Licensure (6–9)

All students must complete a major in an appropriate academic discipline, and must complete specific coursework for licensure in two of the following areas: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies.

State standards for Language Arts and Social Studies licensure are met by completion of the ILS Core Cluster in Humanities (HUM 124, 214 and 324). Students transferring to UNC Asheville must either take these courses, or have completed courses at other institutions that satisfy the required standards.
