SPAN 347 - Spanish and the Environment: Words, Worlds, and the Natural World (4) In this seminar we concentrate on themes of Nature and the environment. Drawing upon literature, visual art, film, music, poetry, and prose from Latin America, Abya-Yala (Indigenous Americas) and the Iberian Peninsula, we consider concepts and influences such as European and Indigenous imaginings of the Americas; the weave of landscape, language, culture and identity, Romanticism, cultural expression and environmental activism, and the boundaries and intersections of humans and the natural world. This course fulfills the Arts requirement of the Core Curriculum. See department chair.
