MATH 397 - Chaos and Fractals (3)

The study of nonlinear iterated function systems in one and higher dimensions. Topics may include periodicity, chaotic dynamics, structural stability, strange attractors, and fractal geometry. Numerical experimentation with personal computers will be part of the course. Prerequisite: MATH 291. See department chair.
