Explores the development of the Greek art corpus including influences and techniques from pre-Greek cultures. The course focuses on art and architectural concepts that underlie Greek artistic expressions, placement of art and architecture within historical context, and technical advances. There is an emphasis on major artists and architects whose works have became part of our world cultural heritage. Any of these courses may be taken in any of the five concentrations, and one must be taken to fulfill requirements of the Classics major. There are no linguistic prerequisites for this course.
