Explores the development of Greek art and architecture from the Bronze Age through the Hellenistic period. The course considers how Greek material culture reflects the social, religious, and commemorative preoccupations of ancient Greece. Topics include the art and architecture of Greek cities and sanctuaries; technical advances in art and architecture; the role of major artists; the visual language of Greek religion and myth; and the role of minor arts.
