Examines the Atlantic world through the experiences of the men and women who inhabited it through the independence movements and revolutions of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Explores specific topics that illustrate how the cultures of the Atlantic World were created by the peoples of Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas, through scholarly works and primary sources such as letters, memoirs, travel accounts, fiction, music, and visual art.
